Foley should be a lesson to us all
The whole foley/page mess should be a lesson to us all..... Child
abusers exist in all levels of our society...from the hood and the trailer parks of america all the way to the halls of congress....child molesters and abusers exist everywhere in our society.... teachers, policemen, firemen, ministers...your uncle or brother...best friend....you never know where these people are or who they are.... crafty folks these wolves in sheeps clothing are. I think 1 in 5 girls in america are molested before they reach adulthood.....many of them never reveal their ordeals either.... so dont trust your kids around anyone....especially someone in a position of authority or trust... statistics for boys being abused are just a bit less than girls...1 in 7...I dont know and Im not going to bother to research it before I enter this post. Do the research your damn self. One other thing.... People should be concerned that many in congress knew of foleys actions regarding the young page boy and we should be concerned because these fellow politicians of foleys covered the whole thing and are now even seeking to thwart any investigations...these people are more concerned with keeping everything hushed up than they are about protecting someones child. Men knew of Foleys actions and said nothing...... they were more concerned with keeping Foley in office and his name and party untainted from scandal than they were about the well being of a child... This is not a republican thing either...Im sure there are plenty of democratic child abusers molesters in congress...just as there are republicans... People always scream democrat or republican when scandal erupts.... why cant people see that all politicians are the same....none are moral... none are ethical.... they value only themselves and their party.... even the safety of a child is of no concern to a politician...... I bet there are a lot of congressmen and senators scrambling this weekend to remove the child porn from their computers....Foley was not an isolated incident....our elected officials probably have world class child porn collections...... Im sure those guys on the committees who look into child porn or child abuse are all there because they are trying to cover their own asses or they are there to get their hands on child porn. None are there to protect children. Anywhooooooooo... lets all watch this scandal and see what happens....lets watch as it quickly swept under the rug....no charges will be filed....Foley will quietly go away.... no investigations..... politics as usual |

Well, my suggestion for 'House Repair" would still be: vote Democratic- but, as Mark Twain said long ago, the United States has no native criminal class, except Congress... |

Another example which has been proven time and time again is the most ardent homophobes harbor latent homosexual desires. Phil English, another Republican member of congress, has a perfect record of voting in favor of anti-gay legislation, but was caught soliciting a male prostitute. Jim McCrery is another Republican anti-gay voter who is queer as a football bat. |

[...] I am so disillusioned with Congress now that it has become totally partisan, as poster says above -- "they value only themselves and their party". I still think there is a modicum of difference between the Dems and Reps. The Dems are a bunch of confused pussies who are afraid to act on their basic, New Deal-inspired belief that they are supposed to serve the people. Think of the progressive legislation that was passed by past Administrations! We will only realize what we had when it has been stolen from us by our own apathy. The Reps of today, on the other hand, have been engineered by a careful, well-designed Karl Rovian plot over the last 30 years to undo all the good that was done for the countryup until that time. Now it is raw power, to be maintained at all costs, totally amoral. Gone is any semblance of bi-partisanship. Gone is the welfare of the people. Just keep them scared by "war" on this and "war" on that, and pander to the religious nuts who can't think beyond their own fears and superstitions. And of course keep a firm grip on all three branches of government, to preclude any semblance of honest debate. Damn the Constitition and the separation of powers! Full speed toward a Fascist regime. With these last bills passed by the B**sh Administration -- shamefully joined by several Dems, say goodbye to Habeus Corpus; say goodbye to what was left of our civil liberties. Congress is just a whorehouse filled with white millionaires who will do anything to stay in office. There are a few -- a very few -- public servants left, mostly on the Dem side, but they have no influence on the juggernaut. I read the foreign press, which has excellent Web sites. What they think of the B**sh torture and indefinite detention policies -- both completely unConstitutional! -- makes a patriotic American like me blush with shame. We have ****ed away our world capital. What will we tell our children and grandchildren? |

None are there to protect children. Anywhooooooooo... lets all watch this scandal and see what happens....lets watch as it quickly swept under the rug....no charges will be filed....Foley will quietly go away.... no investigations..... politics as usual It isn't that there are so many more child molesters, it's that there are so few parents. You want to stop child abuse? The only solution is to put one parent back in the home instead at work. The ideal choice to raise the children is the mother - not a child care worker. The vast majority of abuse happens in the home by family members. No, dimwit, the vast majority of abuse is by business and government. The only abuse which raises ratings on our corporate controlled media is child abuse and judging from the recent trends, our media would love more pretty women abusing young boys. The issue is a perfect one for any politician. It's the type of issue that puts them on the side of any audience. So with the media slavering over the next sexual abuse scandal and the politicians so eager to draw attention from the real abuses going on today 'Chester the Molestor' is the perfect candidate. The much smaller catagory, sexual abuse of children by a parent, is a problem whose rate is determined more by the society it occures in. A prudish society which throws a national fit over an exposed tit, criminalizes prostitution, bans nudism, criminalizes Rubins and has complete jackasses like Ashcroft who can not look at a marble tit as the chief legal officer anytime, increases the incidence of sexual abuse of all ages of women. Societies the average born 'agin' jerk would trash as immoral actually have a much lower incidence of child sexual abuse - Denmark for instance or Germany. -- "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." Name some Democrats. There are long lists of Republicans. Child molesting is primarily a Republican vice. Republicanism is about controlling others through force and intimidation. It goes with child molesting, child rape and S&M like ham and eggs. How about Gerry Studds: "Congressional page sex scandal Studds is remembered chiefly for his role in the 1983 Congressional page sex scandal, when he and Representative Dan Crane were censured by the House of Representatives for separate sexual relationships with a minor - in Studds's case, a 1973 relationship with a 17-year-old male congressional page. U.S. Rep. Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) demanded their expulsion. On July 20, the House voted for censure, the first time that censure had been imposed for sexual misconduct. Crane, who tearfully apologized for his transgression, lost his bid for reelection in 1984. Studds, however, refused to apologize (even calling a press conference with the former page, in which both stated that they were consenting adults at the time of the relationship and that it was therefore not the business of others to censure them for their private relationship), and he continued to be reelected until his retirement in 1996." Hmmm.. Here we have Republicans when they see wrong doing by their own party members, demanding they step down. And a Democrat who didn't appologize, was supported by his fellow Dems who, as usual, close ranks and fight on, trying to justify his actions. So Studds, who we know actually had sex with a page, stayed on as a member of Congress for another 12 years. Or how about Barney Frank, who had young guys running an escort service out of his house? And he's still a member of Congress, last time I checked. Anyone that looks at having sex with children as some kind of partisan issue is the classic example of how some will seek to divide the country for their own selfish puposes. The thing that is so strange is that with Abu Ghraib, the entire military was infected with kinky S&M and nobody seemed to notice this meant that necessarily Bush, Rumsfeld and the top military folk are all very sick perverts whose influence leached down corrupted everyone. We have ****ed away our world capital. What will we tell our children and grandchildren? With voters as brain-dead as ours seem to be, our only hope is for Jim Swaggart, Jim and Tammy Bakker, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell to pray for us. A few "God bless America" s from George can't hurt. "When in doubt, choose life." Trouble is, George Bush (the mediocre, overprivileged alcoholic) is NEVER in doubt, so .. Bombs away! Kill all those sons of bitches that don't take our brand of "democracy". Nuke them! Shoot them! Napalm them. They have enough weapons, bombs to fight an American Revolution 100 times over if they wanted a civilized form of government. Trouble is, our oil is right in the middle of the mess and we have to feed our AC's and SUV's. Can't wait until China is rich enough to afford as many cars as we have......keep shopping at Walmart. |

Actually, the New Testament warns those who would follower Christ explicitly against such "preaching" and warns of the justifiable condemnation which in fact follows such. So your statement, "People quite often covet what they openly preach against." is supported by the fundamental teachings of the Christian fellowship. The failure of those who condemn others for an evil they themselves commit suggests that they are not what they claim to be; that is, they are not in fact disciples of Christ, but rather are disciples of the Anti-Christ. |

Foley should be a lesson to us all
I found it hilarious that some right winger talking heads were bringing up
the Clinton/Lewinsky stuff! It's apples and oranges. In the first case, 2 wrongs don't make a right. And 2nd of all, what Clinton did was a lot less worse than what this child predator Foley did. Clinton and Lewinsky were 2 consenting ADULTS. The whole Clinton affair shouldn't have been made public anyway. We've all made mistakes. A lot of other Presidents have had affairs, but the reporters back then knew that the country had more pressing concerns than if the President was getting some tail on the side! :-) Anyway, seems like every time a Republican gets caught doing something, they immediately mention the Clinton/Lewinsky affair. Another reason why the Republicans are, on average, dumbasses. Because Clinton got oral sex from an intern, does that mean the Republicans have carte blanche to do whatever?!?! Also, if they hate Clinton so much, why are they always bringing up his actions to justify their own? It's liek they're saying: "your precious Clinton messed up, so why can't we?" Doesn't make any sense, but then again Repubs tend to be not too bright. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |

His function was to throw the "President" soft-ball questions at press conferences, while a REAL reporter -- the fearles, peerless Helen Thomas -- was relegated to the back row like a widdle kid being punished -- for asking a REAL question. Most of the press corps has learned to self-censor, but Helen Thomas always called it like it is. When he was unveiled, unmasked, un-- oh, this could be fun -- there was never a word of apology from the Karl Rove machine.
