I am so disillusioned with Congress now that it has become totally
partisan, as poster says above -- "they value only themselves and
their party".

I still think there is a modicum of difference between the Dems and
Reps. The Dems are a bunch of confused pussies who are afraid to act
on their basic, New Deal-inspired belief that they are supposed to
serve the people. Think of the progressive legislation that was
passed by past Administrations! We will only realize what we
had when it has been stolen from us by our own apathy.

The Reps of today, on the other hand, have been engineered by a
careful, well-designed Karl Rovian plot over the last 30 years to undo
all the good that was done for the countryup until that time. Now it
is raw power, to be maintained at all costs, totally amoral.

Gone is any semblance of bi-partisanship.

Gone is the welfare of the people.

Just keep them scared by "war" on this and "war" on that,
and pander to the religious nuts who can't think beyond their
own fears and superstitions.

And of course keep a firm grip on all three branches of government,
to preclude any semblance of honest debate. Damn the Constitition and
the separation of powers! Full speed toward a Fascist regime.

With these last bills passed by the B**sh Administration --
shamefully joined by several Dems, say goodbye to Habeus
Corpus; say goodbye to what was left of our civil liberties.

Congress is just a whorehouse filled with white millionaires
who will do anything to stay in office. There are a few --
a very few -- public servants left, mostly on the Dem side,
but they have no influence on the juggernaut.

I read the foreign press, which has excellent Web sites.
What they think of the B**sh torture and indefinite detention
policies -- both completely unConstitutional! -- makes a
patriotic American like me blush with shame. We have
****ed away our world capital. What will we tell our children and
grandchildren?
