I want to take my preparation a step further and ask those who have actually been through a major earthquake, what they wish they could have done better to prepare. One thing that's frustrating is that Japan atleast has a 10-15 second warning system that gives you some time to duck and cover. California does not. The Japanese also don't have to contend with an army of "disenfranchised minorities". Think about what things are like with the infrastructure intact and police around to crack heads. If you have the "big one" in California and live you better be armed to the teeth and fully prepared to shoot first and worry about political correctness later. |
