Default Toshiba TheatreView TP50F50 No High Voltage or Sound

Unit responds to remote and turns on power LED.

It was having problems losing HV to CRTs intermittently; hitting the chassis
would make HV go on and off, but left sound on.

Tapped on the multiplier then was OK for a while, suspecting bad solder
joint on near multiplier resoldered suspect solder joints.

Now no HV or sound. Inspected work for shrts etc. but all looks good.

Any experience with this type problem?

TIA
Charles

It would be best to monitor the HV drive to the output device with a scope
and see if it is loosing the drive from the suspected cold solder
connection. If you loose the HV and there is still some drive, I would then
suspect something in the flyback area, or the flyback assembly itself.

Also will probably be necesary to check the CPTs for possible spot burns,
when the HV is dropping out it is highly probable the horiz sweep is failing
also allowing the displayed raster to collapse into the centre of the
screen.

Look for bad solder joints in the area of the flyback.
