Default RCA TV problem

I have a RCA model 32V550T television. Recently I turned on the TV and I
got no picture in a high pitched buzzing sound. Now I cannot turn the TV
off as the buzzing continues. If I unplug and plug in the TV the buzzing
continues.

The question is this something that can be repaired (or something that is
worth repairing)? I've only had the TV for about 2 years.... if that long.

TIA

Leave the tv unplugged until you can get it into a qualified technician for
estimate or repair.
The noise is the SMPS being loaded down, probably due to a shorted HOT, that
may have failed from connection problems to the base drive signal.

Default RCA TV problem

Shorted Horizontal output device, very possible a defective LOPT, probable
that L14401 has very lousy soldering where it connects to the circuit board
due to glue application and seepage. Sounds like you may want to have a tech
take a look and furnish an estimate for it's repair.

32V550T is ITC800 chassis

ITC008 chassis came out last late fall and DOES NOT have coil or like
that between HOT and horizontal driver trahsformer.

The buzz is the power supply overloading and don't plug in again till
you get it into service. It's under warrenty get it to RCA service
authorized.

Cheers,

Wizard

Beg to differ Wizard: I've encountered a few of these nice ITC chassis with
indeed the coil still there, maybe in later production they actually changed
that particular circuitry. Have see too many with defective LOPT devices
also problems in the PCC circuitry. As stated, he "may want to have a tech
take a look and furnish an estimate for it's repair" thanks!! A/J

WHOOPS!! I was sleeping and should read "ITC008" but rest of it is as
exactly I said previously.

Sorry, my mind is very active and my fingers is slooow.

Interesting on your comment. The transformer and the base of HOT,
there was no way to have a spot for a coil but revised chassis to have
it? Very interesting.

Note, the new model numbers doesn't apply to the CTC203, the 32V550T
is unique and new so it got new chassis, ITC008. There is few models
of this xxV550T format and doesn't have gemstar box crap (thank
god!!).

Cheers,

Wizard
