Default Television no longer makes sound

I have a 32 inch normal television. It is about five years old.
Recently, the speakers started making a static noise. It only makes
this noise for items that are plugged into the RF antenna thing in the
back (example: the cable, the nintendo, the super nintendo). However,
items that are plugged into the A/V slot in the back perform just fine
(example: playstation 2). So, any idea what the problem might be?
Sound is just fine on the "video input" channel, but not anything on
channel 3 (which, as I said, is the cable, the video games, etc.)

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Brandon

You should mention the manufacture and model number of any device you
enquire about.

Generally speaking, the fault may be in the sound demodulator section, or
the circuit area that switches the sound input mode.

Did you check the simple things, such is the TV in the SAP mode, if it has
that feature. Many times, lost sound is from having a wrong setting.

If the above fails, you will have to take the set to a service centre to
have an estimate for the repair.
