Are these doors any good?
https://tinyurl.com/MDF-Slab-Door Full Link https://www.homedepot.com/p/JELD-WEN...1026/202036884 I threw one in as part of my freshen-up project before the kids showed up for Thanksgiving. I need at least 6 more to do the upstairs rooms, maybe a dozen if I do all the closets too. The prices are right, but am I going to have issues later on? I went from this... https://i.imgur.com/Mq74uix.jpg ....to this: https://i.imgur.com/18PhvFH.jpg (Not painted yet) |

They are what they are...lightest possible MDF. If you can get away with not having to trim and they aren't used hard, they'll be ok for a while, anyways...There's only 1" solid on edges at most for hanging. As the site also says, be certain to prime and paint all six sides or they _will_ warp. I'd not use for a bath door for that reason... -- |

If you can get away with not having to trim and they aren't used hard, they'll be ok for a while, anyways...There's only 1" solid on edges at most for hanging. Actually, they can be trimmed, per the page I linked to: "Door trimmable for custom fit up to 1/4in T, 3/4in B & 1/8in S" I had to trim the closet door by 1/8" in width and at a slight angle on the top since the opening wasn't square. Many of the other doors will need the bottom trimmed due to the new carpet, but not by 3/4. They won't be used hard, it's just the two of us. As the site also says, be certain to prime and paint all six sides or they _will_ warp. I'd not use for a bath door for that reason... Good point. |

The house was built in the same year that I was, 1955. ;-) |
