Delta or Ryobi?
I bought the BT3000 about introduction time and have been happy MOST
of the time. It's done most things I've asked of it and a couple of things not asked for, but those were more my fault than its'. Still use mine almost daily. Delta makes booboos too. Benchtop drill press in the garage is one and probably not the only one. On Fri, 26 Mar 2004 13:06:31 -0500, "drs100" wrote: I have finally narrowed my choice for a table saw down to two! (It would be used for home and hobby type cutting, nothing too big.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Delta or Ryobi?
At one time, the Ryobi had a great warranty (lifetime, I believe), but that
has changed. It is now three years. I am not sure about the Delta TS. If they are comparable in price and features, I would make the choice on service and warranty issues. I don't think it would last too long in a production cabinet shop or as a contractor's jobsite saw, but it's fine for hobby woodworking and home repair use. The BT3100 has a sliding miter table rather than standard T-slots. There's a very good site about the BT3100 at http://www.bt3central.com/. -- -- Steve |

Delta or Ryobi?
Hi, I have Delta 36-600, similar to the TS 300, I havn't had nothing but
trouble out of it, the motor and brushes, I finally burned it up. I think it's a POS. I'd check into what Grizzly. will most likely be ordering there 1023s before long. Tony wrote in message ... Delta or Ryobi?
I have been using the 36-600 for 2-years and think it works ok. No motor
problems. The fence could be a little better. I replaced the stock miter gauge a while back with the Osborne eb-3. I have made several projects with it and have no major complaints. It has a cast iron top that is flat and rock solid. I would definitely stay away from aluminum tops. "Tony" wrote in message ... Delta or Ryobi?
The Ryobi has a tabletop segment with the miter slot to replace the sliding
table in the accessory kit ($100 more) - - I got mine when the accessory kit was a "giveaway" BTW it's an excellent saw for home, hobby, and light cabinet-making. I wouldn't want to use it as a contractor's saw or in a production shop. "drs100" wrote in message . .. Delta or Ryobi?
I had a Ryobi, but missed having a miter slot. For me, the sliding table
was more of a novelty. The motor took a dump after a few months of light duty use, since I was saving up for a Unisaw, the timing was ok after all. Delta or Ryobi?
Last year I got the TS300, (yea, $299 at Lowes) Took a bit of tinkering
to get the wings right, and the fence only locks on the near side. But seems ok, get true, straight cuts. I use a magnetic angle gage to set angles. All that said, I'm pretty new to ww, less then one year, half a new kitchen finished, now for the old side. drs100 wrote: I have finally narrowed my choice for a table saw down to two! Construction foreman posted a couple of years ago that he had requests
from 3 (I think) crews for BT3000 saws and he was buying 2-3/year for each group. For all the info about the bt3x00 series, check out the following site.
http://www.bt3central.com/ I've had one for about 4 years. Been too busy to do more than about 1 years work with it, but I'd buy another in an instant. In article , drs100 @bellsouth.net says...
