Default Grizz TS G0444Z dust collection question

Does the bottom dust shield with the 4" opening catch most of the dust when
hooked up to the dust collector? I was wondering how a zero clearance insert
would work on the saw. Would it spit most of the dust out on to the top of
the saw or would the DC catch it, and has anyone figured out a way to box in
the back of the saw by the motor to stop the dust from shooting out the back
on to the floor so that it could be sucked up by the dust collector? Thanks
for your help and suggestions.
