Default goblets/glasses for art show - 07 goblets.jpg (0/1)

Thinning down the list of stuff for the upcoming show...
The wife wants to take just about everything, I'm trying to limit it to about 30
or so items..

Really looks nice Mac, I like the captive ring goblet best I think.

Well *I* couldn't choose which ones to leave out - all too good for
that.

Well done.

Thanks, Lyndell.. I stole the idea from Bill Grumbine's page but being a coward,
I made the rings too big.. I was afraid that if I started smaller, I'd cut the
stem in half.. lol
Knowing a bit more now, I'll try again some day... maybe when a grand kid gets
married..

I love the fiddleback maple on that goblet.. it was sent to me by Wood Chuck, In
N.Y....

Thanks... but even the redwood ones?
They were done for practice and I like them, but don't know about them in an
art show??..

I REALLY like the captured ring one. I just bought a tool for doing
them
http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.a...,330,49233&ap=
1

but haven't had a chance to play with it. I've been cranking out
dibblers... They're almost selling faster than I can make them.

It was an early attempt, Dave... I've learned quite a bit since, especially the
sanding part...
That goblet has about 4 hours of hand sanding the inside of the rings... I know
better now.. *g*

My wife bought me a similar tool from PSI and later, when I started trying to
make stuff with more than one ring, I bought their set of beading tools..
Makes it a little easier to make the beads closer in size..

One of my favorites is this tea light holder... about 3" tall..
I think it's more the ring-to-stem ratio I'm aiming at..

I think they all deserve entry, the difference between 'art' and 'Art'
is so blurred these days, nobody feels able to confidently state what
is and isn't. I saw a video of a dripping tap in San Francisco and they
called that 'Art'. My view was something else.

Put 'em in.

I think that proves that "perception becomes reality"..
Wanna buy a real expensive picture of a soup can?
