Clean up CA
I was making some sanding disks today by glueing the sandpaper to some loop
(hook and loop) stuff with CA. I got a little on the front of the 600 grit. Sanded with it and it left a little trace. Does anyone know how I may life this off? (As I'm very happy with th finish and dont want to start again) Cheers Mick |

I'm not holding out a lot of hope, though you can test against the finish applied on something else. |

I had some squeeze out when gluing a stone onto a previously friction
polished lid, ca glue. Most distressing. waited a bit till it was almost solid, scraped it off lightly with a single edge razor blade, but the finish was then dull. Used a bit of 0000 steel wool to get an even dull appearance, then re-applied the polish. Back in business. BTW, this was on purpleheart wood, and some of the squeeze out came right through the open pores of the wood, a bit of distance away from the actual place where the stone was set. Surpised me, but thought it's something to consider when gluing woods like walnut, oak, ash, or exotic open grained woods. |
