Crown Extra Heavy Half-Round Scraper
I was in Louisville today and went by Woodcraft. I bought a Crown Extra
Heavy Half-round Scraper. It is a full 1/2" thick and has a very nice heft to it. Has anyone used this tool? What do you think? Did I do good or what? Barry |

Crown Extra Heavy Half-Round Scraper
I don't use it quite as regularly, tending to more often use a Kelton
Shear Scraper, but otherwise, my experiences and maintainance technique exactly. Lyn VRadin wrote: In article , says... I was in Louisville today and went by Woodcraft. Barry I've got one and use it regularly. I really like the weight and size- very comfortable feel and easy to control. For the edge- I polished out the bevel at the same factory angle and just use a veritas bench-mount burnisher to put a burr on it. |

Crown Extra Heavy Half-Round Scraper
I use my Extra Heavy Scraper all the time but on the inside of a bowl I
got a catch and it flipped out of my hand and came up and hit me on the chin and I saw stars. Now I am not so aggressive when I use it. Tommie http://www.angelfire.com/va3/tommiesplace.com |

Did I do good or what? I have the whole set. In fact, its the ONLY type of scraper I use. Suggestion: Put a longer handle on them. You'll be able to hang out the full length of the tool (if necessary) and have no chatter. All mine have 22" cocobolo handles which does wonders at absorbing vibration and providing extra leverage.
