Default these wooden vases

hi all,

total newbie to wood turning i'f afraid, so i am wondering how these vases
were made :-

#search='barry%20jackson%20wooden%20vessels'

i think they're fantastic. they've clearly been done on a lathe and made
with two types of wood, but i am wondering how the maker had so well jointed
the the two types of wood like that? has he done this by hand?? how are
they so seemlessly put together like that?

the only way ive thought he could have done it is using sort kind of
computer controlled cutter?

Easiest method: If you stack up two pieces of wood of different
species tape them together and cut the curve at the same time on the
band saw, the curves will fit together perfectly. You just need a
large band saw. But then again, there's no scale there, so the "vases"
could be 3" tall, for all we know.

At least, that's how I'd do it.

YMMV
