Default Elica Cooker Hoods

Has anyone any experience of them? Good/Bad? It is one of the only
angled hoods that I can find that has a vent at the rear rather than
needing a chimney to vent up and out.

Prompted by another thread on here yesterday, I had a look: expensive!

However I was very interested to see their "downdraft" fans -- couldn't
make out what the heck that might be at first, but on delving, it seems
like a good idea!

(No good in answer to your question Andrew - sorry)

If it's a recirculating hood, they are almost a complete waste of money
and achieve nothing. You need one which extracts the steam and etc.
outside.

Are you certain? Some that still need the chimney (for looks) can be
vented elsewhere.

No, but these

V743

are dirt cheap and work reasonably well.

There's actually not much choice for this sort of hood, they've gone
right out of fashion in the last few years. Wife couldn't rest easy
until we'd got the chimney type like her friends'.

I've had one for over 10 years, and had no problems so far
(mutters incantation to the gods of magic smoke). Expensive, a
bit noisy on full speed, but pretty effective.

However, I insisted to my installer that it be fully ducted.
There was no way I was shelling out that much to have the steam
blown back in the room.

I have installed a couple...

Yup they seem ok actually.
