Default Changing supplier - smart meters blank

Changed to Bulb (prior OVO), they've emailed asking for an opening
reading, both gas and electric meters are showing a blank display.

Trying to wake them shows 'vend mode'.
I'm sure this has been thought about and someone knows what our usage is
and they'll sort it between them...

But i'm currently uncomfortable, smart meters? Meh.

Don't worry about it, most new suppliers ask for a reading then promptly
ignore it and use a system 'deemed' reading.

The last time I changed, they used a "deemed" reading that was a mile
out - indeed it was below that of my previous bill. And this was despite
my giving them not only the correct numbers, but photos of my meters!

That was part of my concern.

Assuming this is after cycling through the "press button A" stuff I
suggest you contact Bulb a.s.a.p. (online if call centre not open now).
Make /very/ clear if there are any vulnerable users.

To run smart meters you need smart companies, say no more.
