And in 1950 the thought of a mobile phone would have been laughed at. mobile phones were invented in the 1920s & commercialised in the 50s. Yeah, the size of a truck. Nothing like what we have today. So, looking at the Peltier, that should improve in the same way. Nope, because it's a much simpler technology and we have already tied all the metal combinations that have a thermoelectric effect. then think of something else. Surely there must be more to refridgeration than a compressor invented a century ago. |

We did, compressors, that work much better for all by the smallest heat pumps. Surely there must be more to refridgeration than a compressor invented a century ago. Fraid not. There is for heating, nukes, but not for heat pumps. |

We usually go through quite a few different types of technology to do one thing. Think of lighting - the candle, the gas lamp, the arc lamp, the filament, the fluorescent tube, the LED. |

Only to fools who don't have a ****ing clue about any technology. Surely there must be more to refridgeration than a compressor invented a century ago. Fraid not. There is for heating, nukes, but not for heat pumps. I can't believe that. Its true anyway. We usually go through quite a few different types of technology to do one thing. Hasn't happened with heat pumps. Think of lighting - the candle, the gas lamp, the arc lamp, the filament, the fluorescent tube, the LED. There are plenty of other technologys that don't have anything like that variety of approaches. Have fun listing those with the fork for example. There are only two with knives, and that's over millennia now. |
