Irrelevant to the much simpler technology of thermocouples.

Another example is resistive heating using electricity.
Its already so close to 100% efficiency due to the laws
of physics that it isnt possible to get much more efficient.
The only loss of efficiency now is the red light from the
element getting out the window.
