my wireless receiver works fine for the heating but has started to pick and
choose when it comes on for the hot water, sometimes it works for a week them
working for a couple of weeks. has anyone experienced this problem if so what
the remedy please.

One of the relays on the receiver will be failing.
No cure unless you are good at soldering micro-relays onto PCB's.
It'll mean a new receiver (they can be bought separately), or more likely
the complete stat will be cheaper to buy.
