Default Double glazed panel

Ordered up new to replace one which had misted up. Frame is wood, and
haven't removed the old yet.

The replacement came with what looks like gaffer tape round the edges.
Does that stay on when fitted or merely protection for transport?

Haven't seen this for years.
We used to leave it on, but this was for upvc frames, not sure how you plan
on sealing it to a wooden frame? Silicone perhaps? - if so, the silicone
will stick to the tape but it really needs to stick to the glass to form a
proper seal. It'll be ok provided it is below the level of the beads

All my units arrived (3 years ago) with gaffer tape around all edges.

I left it on.

Usually left on unless it gets in the way of sealing to the frame.
