Default watchma oil gauge

just had tank filled up to three quarters. the watchman is only registering a
flashing picture of a refilling pump

Replace the battery in the sending unit on the tank.

Quite possibly. Mine failed just outside the warranty period, and
rather than screw with a badly designed unit that ate batteries, I
replaced it with an Apollo.
