Default Using Thunderbird ?

My access via Thunderbird has gone very slow over past 48 Hrs ... often
just stalls for minutes if I do a search.

Anybody else having TB issue, checking as there was an upgrade yesterday
..... otherwise will assume it's BT

24.5.0 OK here (talking to giganews)

If you have any email folders (including junk or deleted) with more than
30,000 messages in them, split them up and empty/compact them.
