do this look like a oven thermostat or the oven gas valve? how can i
diagnose? if i disconnect the thermostat and oven works without
extingushing , then its the thermostat?

For clarification, has the "hob" in the title of the post got anything
to do with it, or is this just a question about the oven?

thanks for the ideas. i had a look and re seated the oven burner plate. now the gas oven cooks nicely for hours on end.

the problem that i discovered now is that if you turn off the oven while its in use (piping hot 200C), then you the oven refuses to re ignite the flame, by spark or match until it fully cools down again ?

any ideas on this weird problem? thanks
