Default Trade-only glue?

I want to buy some Evo-Stick, but the biggest size it comes in is 1l. I
need quite a bit to glue carpet to the inside of the hull of my boat.
I'd like to buy 5l of the TX528 (which says it's not instant "allows
slight adjustments of small areas"). The problem is this is a "Trade
Only" product.

I've read the previous 'blagging a trade account' thread, and wonder if
I should try to do that, or, if I should just go into Jewson and
brazenly attempt a purchase?

What do people suggest?

Justin.

I think the 'Trade only' tag is probably meaningless, at most it
probably means that it's normally only sold through outlets that deal
with the trade. i imgaine you'd ahve no problem just going in a buying
it.

It's not hard to find online. Lawson's seemed to be a good price:

Bloodyell -- take care now Justin: 5 litres of Evostick? *Inside* a
boat? It'd be like climbing inside the placcy bag favoured by
gluesniffers!

Forehatch and companionway open, and doing little bits at a time. I'm
not looking forward to it either, but I'm fed up with the ugly, sagging,
foam-backed vinyl. I has just got to be done.

[snip]

Thanks to all who replied. I did wonder about the whole "trade" thing.
But with regard to the product itself, I've decided to go with the
suggestion for HTA1000, it appears to be designed for the purpose.

Thanks again.

I've not bought any lately, but have noticed on the shelf that it has
been "improved", presumably by removing/changing the volatile organic
compounds? Was it toluene historically? Has the new formulation ruined a
previously good product?

I remember watching a bloke with a blowtorch softening, one by one, a
big stack of Marley tiles - while surrounded on three sides by a floor
covered in EvoStick.

I didn't stick around to see what happened next.

The torch probably burnt the flammables out of the air, preventing
them reaching explosion point. It works, but a risky strategy.
