Default washine machine adaptor weeping

Hi,

I've got something like this:
http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Plum.../sd2705/p87622

It is fine when "switched on" in everyday use but when I turn it off,
e.g. when recently moving the washing machine to redecorate, it weeps.
I know with taps you can pack them with ptfe tape but there doesn't
look like there is anyway to do this, and besides, I imagine it is a
ball valve rather than a tap. Do I just have to replace it and throw
it away or can it be repaired?

TIA

Sorry to say it's replacement time - and the new one won't be much
better. I've had them snap between where the red/blue plastic lever
fixes and the ball inside the valve. Unfortunately it wasn't quite
closed when I wanted the appliance away.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Fred
saying something like:

Many of them nowadays are pretty crap, so just get another one.
If you're lucky you might find a better quality unit.
