Default New Year 2010

Holy Father,

God of our yesterdays, our today, and our tomorrows.

We praise You for Your unequaled greatness.

Thank You for the year behind us and for the year ahead.

Help us in Your new year, Father, to fret less and laugh more.

To teach our children to laugh by laughing with them.

To teach others to love by loving them.

Knowing, when Love came to the stable in Bethlehem, He came for us.

So that Love could be with us, and we could know You.

That we could share Love with others.

Help us, Father, to hear Your love song in every sunrise,

in the chriping of sparrows in our backyards,

in the stories of our old folks, and the fantasies of our children.

Help us to stop and listen to Your love songs,

so that we may know You better and better.

We rejoice in the world You loved into being.

Thank You for another new year and for new chances every day.

We pray for peace, for light, and for hope, that we might spread them
to others.

Forgive us for falling short this past year.

We leave the irreparable past in your hands, and step out into the
unknown new year knowing You will go with us.

We accept Your gift of a new year and we rejoice in what's ahead,
depending on You to help us do exactly what You want..

I say it again, we rejoice!

In Jesus name,

Amen.

If Claire offends you, there is no stopping you from killfilling her. Who
stepped aside and left you in charge of what and who should post where and
when. You would prefer Andrew Chung? She asked for God's blessings. Period.
You don't want them, don't read the post. Lots of people here I find
offensive, so I don't read what they post.

Easy - it's off topic for the newsgroups listed.

Some of us are christians, some are agnostic, some are atheists and there
might even be some muslims, buddhists etc.

But most of us are sick of evangelists poking in where they are not wanted.

The muslim evangelists who venture here (uk.d-i-y anyway) get far worse
treatment - she's getting off lightly.

On an aside - Claire - I'm sure you mean well. But wibbling in an
inappropriate group ****es people off and damages your cause more than it
helps. So stop it...

And no one put me in charge either - I have an opinion and I'm stating it.
Simples...

The problem is that she's violated the normal guidelines by posting in a
totally off-topic newgroup, thereby shoving her dubious beliefs down
people's throats. If she wants to avoid criticism, she should stick to
the appropriate newsgroups, such as alt.religion.fantasy.christian or
similar.

Read that "off-topic and totally unrelated newsgroups."

When I see posts like this I think of them as the Xtian version of a prayer
wheel- somehow you'll make points with your designated Sky Pilot by sending
prayers willy-nilly off into space.
We haven't space for a listing of all the beliefs I don't grok.

I trust Claire finds this offensive;

1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!
2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams!
3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit!
4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted
on ingrates!
5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!
6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for
psychic vampires!
7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often
worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine
spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal
of all!
8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical,
mental, or emotional gratification!

9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it
in business all these years!

Like you need a huge hole your head!

More strife has been caused in the name of religion than in any other.

Look at all the bent, perverted and warmongering religious idiots [1] there
are in this world today (and even more in thepast)

[1] And many have preached their religion while committing thuggery,
buggery anad rape of young children and adults alike!

Amen.
