I didn't feel one but it suddenly began persisting it down and me with
washing on the line. Only lasted a couple of minutes.

And I KNOW you're not interested :-)

6.6 Earthquake Jolts Japan

July 20, 2008 8:00 a.m. EST

Preciosa Dumlao - AHN News Writer

Tokyo, Japan (AHN) - Japan's Meteorological Agency said that a strong
earthquake struck the eastern coast of Japan on Sunday with a magnitude
6.6 on the Richter scale.

The agency said that a small tsunami could be expected in some regions
off the eastern coast of Japan particularly in the Fukushima and Miyagi
prefectures.

It also added that the quake struck around 11:39 a.m. local time, off
Fukushima prefecture, 150 miles northeast of the capital city.

Reports said that some buildings in the capital city swayed due to the
tremor. But there were no immediate reports of death, injuries or damage.

Japan sits on four tectonic plates and experiences frequent earthquake
and aftershocks from those events.

But I'd doubt you would have felt that one. :-)

Dave, whereabouts are you in the country?

Well, the earth moved for me last night, so you may have just felt an
aftershock. ;-)

Donno but both my POTS and ISDN line have died, no volts on the POTS line
no green light on the ISDN. Mail and text from my ADSL provider gives the
outage starting at 1447.
