If anyone reads the IET's Engineering & Technology magazine, in the
current issue is an article "Electrical industry fights fakes". It has a picture of counterfeit and genuine MCB's side by side with the covers removed. The fake has literally just a crude switch inside it. No current sensing or fusing. Unless you opened it up or tested it with an overcurrent, you would never know (until it failed to trip when necessary and your wiring melted). |

From reading the article it would seem you'd have to be a bit dozy not to spot the fakes as they're a lot lighter than the real things. Tim |

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember " saying something like: If anyone reads the IET's Engineering & Technology magazine, in the current issue is an article "Electrical industry fights fakes". The ****s responsible for that should be taken out and beaten to within an inch of their lives. Or kneecapped. Kneecapped would be good. -- Dave |

The following 1700mm is thus a compromise... http://www.zeiss.com/c12567a8003b58b9/Contents-Frame/8baac109cb80bddfc12571e100393a1b -- Adrian C |
