Karcher don't brand for anyone else. Well they do the opposite ie make "Karcher" for only one store. Have alook at the Karcher models in B&Q you won't find them anywhere else or on the Karcher website... -- Cheers Dave. |

suggested frequencies -once a month in winter and in summer no more frequent than bi-monthly - though does depend upon your mileage! Blimy that's a bit keen. Ours get washed once a year when the salt season has finished in early May. Mine also get an int/ext clean when it goes in for a service about every 8 months, the dealer does as routine. The lights and number plates get a wipe over if they start to get obscured but generally speaking the rain and spray keeps them clean enough most of the year. Can't see the point it in the religious car washing on a Sunday, drive to town and back (5 miles) and it'll be mucky again... -- Cheers Dave. |

I was thinking of water getting down window seals and into locks - more that what the car is designed to cope with. Hum, so what about driving at 60mph in rain? -- Cheers Dave. |

The "you can't buy cheaper" claim from the retailer simply means Karcher make the K220 for one shed, the K221 for another, the K222 for a third. Same stuff inside, sometimes the cover moulding is different, sometimes just the number but the extras differ. Think about it though. With pressure washers, the name Karcher is stronger than B&Q, Argos etc. -- Dave - The Medway Handyman www.medwayhandyman.co.uk 01634 717930 07850 597257 |

Same stuff inside, sometimes the cover moulding is different, sometimes just the number but the extras differ. That's the same with a lot of consumer-grade washing machines, fridge-freezers and so on, and clearly for the same reason. So it's obvious to an observant visitor to your home where you do your shopping! -- Frank Erskine |

Then they just become another mass producer like any other but with a whiff of sneakyness that devalues them below that of other mass producers IMHO. -- Cheers Dave. |

In article , "George" wrote: Can anyone recommend a really good one, up to aprox £200 that would live a while, used once a week, and is powerful, to do car and patio etc Won't your dad now the difference if you bought another type? ;-) Another Karcher otherwise it'll cost you well more for an industrial jobby. Aldi sell one around this time of year: around 75 quids. I bought one last year --- it knocks the socks off my previous cheap job from B&Q (which just conked out after about a year. I'm pretty much sure that it's an "unbranded" Karcher: just have a look at the two, and decide for yourself. Mind - I don't use mine once a week, and I curse my neighbours who do: yet another noise in the neighbourhood. I swear it takes one of my neighbours an hour and more to clean his car, with his damn' PW buzzing away incessantly, while I do my car in 10 minutes, with my rainwater, shampoo and (above all) the magic car-wash brush. Anyway: look at the Aldi one (or LIDL -- they're brothers apparently). Not a Karcher, but *definitely* not crap. hth John Lidl have one in next week, a Lavor. Looks quite good. Its a toss up for me on either the Nilfisk at MM (Although i dont know if they have induction motors) or this one at Lidl. I would like the Kranzle but dont know if its worth the extra £400 but could be persuaded otherwise. |
