Dust extraction on sanders..
I have to sand down some walls. Does dust extraction really work on poer
sanders? Will I notice a difference between an old sander and one with dust extraction? Paul |

Certainly works very well on random orbit sanders, if you attach a vac to a ROS, it picks up almost all of the dust. It works less well on standard orbital sanders, especially on cloggy materials such as plaster. -- Grunff |

The Bosch PEX400 is a very nice starting point, at around £50. If you want heavier duty, a bigger pad and less vibration, the Makita 6030 is a nice machine. http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/...70144&ts=23494 http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/...35378&ts=23494 -- Grunff |

There was a thread on this a month ago: http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.d-i-y/browse_frm/thread/6b66ba156c9d40bd/ I found a 2.5m washing maching hose waste can usually be taped easily to the dust extraction outlet and then onto a vacuum hose. Much lighter and easier to manouvre (sp) than the vacuum hose itself. cheers, Pete. |

Only uses a small cartridge so you have to empty it frequently, but almost total extraction. -- Dave The Medway Handyman www.medwayhandyman.co.uk 01634 717930 07850 597257 |

Dust extraction on sanders..
I have the Bosch PEX400 and can vouch for its ability to suck up the dust. I
am in the process of sanding down recently stripped and repaired walls, so keeping the dust down is a must. "Paul Andrews" wrote in message ... "Paul Andrews" wrote in message ...
