Default Galvanised pipes and Bosch condensing boiler?

Asking this question for a friend, hope he can read replies on Google.

He is about to install an oil-heated condensing boiler in a system with a
few galvanised iron fittings among cast iron radiatiors and copper pipes.

The instruction manual warns against the use of galvanised pipes but does
not explain why. Can anyone shed light on this?

Tim.

Probably because like galvanized anything, once the zinc coating has
been eaten away by whatever the underlying steel/iron will soon rust away.

Thanks: it's just general wisdom, then, not a warning that it will do
something horrible to his new boiler?

The Zinc on the pipe wears away and has an adverse affect with other metals.
I was reading that the zinc also affects the inhibitor too. Get rid of the
pipes.
