I'm writing this blind - my sister has asked me to check out her Zanussi
washing machine "before she bins the bloody thing" - model number unknown. The problem that she's described is that the door refuses to open. Any handy hints, tips, pointers, experience? Thanks, in advance. Mike. |

Too early for me to say (not seen it yet), if water is in tub, any way to drain?, surely if power removed then door could be opened? |

A lot of Zanussi machines have a pressure tube from the pump filter which locks the door regardless of the electric supply, you can drain it by removal of the pump filter. Peter |

The problem that she's described is that the door refuses to open. Any handy hints, tips, pointers, experience? It used to mean that there was still water in the tub. Try removing the waste discharge pipe from its usual drainage place and lowering the entire pipe into a bowl or similar on the floor. This should syphon all of the water out of the drum. If you are then able to open the door, then look at the possibilities of a failed pump and/or pump choked up with debris, coins and etc.. -- Regards, Harry (M1BYT) (L) http://www.ukradioamateur.co.uk |

New door catch - £5. HTH Cheers Paul. |
