I've got one of the first versions of these - probably about 15 years old,
and had a hard life so doesn't owe me. All those cutting of floorboards with a broken off blade. ;-) It's the type with the black plastic 'nut' on the top you pull out and twist until it clicks to lock the blade. But now it clicks when trying to undo it... Anyone had one apart and know if this can be fixed? And if spares are still available and if so from where (S London). I've got four different Bosch power tools and this is the first one that's broken. -- *Of course I'm against sin; I'm against anything that I'm too old to enjoy. Just phone the spares hotline. http://www.healystool.co.uk/index.html |

Lets hope this blade lasts to the end of the current job. ;-) -- *Who is this General Failure chap anyway - and why is he reading my HD? * Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |

But now it clicks when trying to undo it... Mine started to undo itself when sawing. A PITA. Anyone had one apart and know if this can be fixed? Haven't had one of these apart, have had others to bits - they aren't very difficult to deal with IME. And if spares are still available Ooh, nasty. They're a bit on the consumable end of the scale. Spares should be available, but at a price... I've had spares for things like this before, and fitted them (it's not economic get them repaired by someone else), but it's a close call in terms of outlay. and if so from where (S London). I've got four different Bosch power tools and this is the first one that's broken. Hm. I haven't found vast reliability differences between these and cheap makes. If you do take it to bits, do a write-up, & I'll see if I can fix mine! Perhaps I'll try it anyway soon.. |

Not local but you can look up most Bosch spares online at www.mtmc.co.uk to see if they are still available but they should be no problem. -- |
