Default White Hammered Hammerite.

Does anyone know why white hammered Hammerite is a very light grey instead
of white, does it dry white, if not, why call it white?. The smooth stuff
is white.
The Ronseal equivalent is exactly the same.

Because it's hammered. There's a semi-metallic pearlescent additive in
there too, which is finely flaked aluminium. Where it settles out, it
gives the pearly sheen to the "hammers". Where it's less dense it just
gives an off-white tinge.
