Why do you think this is a bad thing? Was it a bad thing when Romney
did pretty much exactly the same thing in MA?

It's a bad thing. The free nation is going socialist.

It was every bit as bad in Taxxachussets.

Sadly, the USA took a hard left, towards socialism.

Yes, and it is unconstitutional. But it IS the law, Roberts said so. So
much for the constitution.

Actually, Roberts made it quite clear that it was not a tax, and that if
it had been a tax, the court would have had no choice but to throw it out.

You misread Roberts, it is a tax, But it is a tax that you can
completely avoid by simply making a purchase in the free, capitalist
market, doing something that any responsible person would do anyway.

You're perfectly free to move someplace where religious conservatives are in control of government..

OK, I'm in favor of you opting out, IF you have "DO NOT TREAT" tattooed
across your forehead in 3" tall letters. Otherwise, you either buy
insurance, or you expect the taxpayer to cover you.

I expect the taxpayer to cover me, after all the money I have put into the
"system" over my lifetime. I sure as hell could use what I pay now for
insurance. I could save $185 a month! Where do I apply?

Romney gave the people of Massachusetts what they were begging for.
That was his job then. They certainly got what they deserved.

The pattern is familiar. Take something (health care, and insurance) that
works fairly well. Regulate it, until it doesn't work. And then regulate it

the regulations and let medical people do what they do well.

do you think that the "medical people" deserve to be paid? or do you
expect them to work for free? Would you like any assurance that your
doctor knows what she is doing, or would you like to gamble with your life?

Yep. I can buy a car, home owner's insurance, life insurance,
even flood and volcano insurance from a company out of state, yet I
can't buy medical insurance from an out of state company. In the days
of horse and buggies, that might have made sense. But not today.
