Grey Area? LOL. If you conservative clowns want to interpret the Constitution literally, then you can be stuck with the technology present at the time of the writing of the Constitution. Muskets and swords anyone? TMT How about The first amendment, then? "1) Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion and Petition Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." So freedom of speech applies only to word of mouth, and freedom of the press refers only to anything printed using the technology available to Ben Franklin. Or the 8th? "8) Excessive bail, cruel punishment Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." At that time, a life sentence was cruel & unusual, while capital punishment was not. Nonsense, of course, because the 2nd does not limit "arms" to "arms currently in use". David |
