Will the new guns laws to come include a tax on firearms andammo?

Since good old crazy Tiggerman has now all but guaranteed new gun laws will be passed and the Country is hurting for revenue sources, it can be easily argued that a tax on firearms and an user tax on ammo would be a great idea. Like a fuel tax, a Federal and State tax on ammo would be paid by those users who use resources needed for firearms. Also an annual tax on each firearm owned would serve to fill the Government's coffers. Finally any weapon that is not licensed and taxed would be an illegal weapon and be subject to seizure and its owner prosecuted for tax evasion. The model works well for drugs and would work just as well for firearms. Are you implying that the "War on Drugs" is a success? And the Constitution supports it. Seems like a definite infringement to me. God Bless America! Which god? FSM? Cthulhu? David |
