Default .700 Caliber “Dinosaur Hunting” Rifle.

Nice machine shop project in case you need to eliminate any pesky
dinosaurs raiding the trash cans around your area.

I haven't checked to see if the plans are available online.

One could not be a successful Leftwinger without realizing that,
in contrast to the popular conception supported by newspapers
and mothers of Leftwingers, a goodly number of Leftwingers are
not only narrow-minded and dull, but also just stupid.

You'll have to get ahold of the guy that started this thread:

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=124685

Not sure if he actually has any drawn plans of if he just "winged" it.
He uses .50 BMG cases that he saws off to 3" and reforms them hot in
some fashion. It looks like a pretty fun.....um...cannon. Definitely
will stop the body armored "revenuers" from confiscating the backwoods
still.

So would you try to get liberals to stand in a row or would you talk them
into demonstrating 1/4" steel body armor? :-)

"Obama supporters line up right here single file!"

At that speed and with that bullet weight and composition..the round
isnt likely to penetrate body armor of any level above Level 2.

However.....it will fold the wearer around that slug like bowling ball
against a hanging carpet.

A true.."thats gotta hurt!" moment indeedy!

Prints!!! Prints!!! Yabuddy!!

Wow. Did you see the other video where he's pushed it up somewhere near
a guesstimated 2000fps? There's a big puff of smoke that looks more like
an artillery piece than a rifle.

When I was a kid, around 1st grade, I drove my dad nuts talking about
how I'd deal with a dinosaur if one ever came into the back yard.
My puny wooden swords of the day would have proven woefully inadequate.
But this baby ought to at least slow them down! lol...

Jon

That's about the same as a H&H .700 Nitro Express -- 1,000 gr. bullet
at 2,000 fps. The rifle weighs 18 pounds. Muzzle energy is 8,900 ft.
lb.

It's strictly for masochists and people trying to work out some kind
of guilt. d8-)

I believe it originated when someone tried to order a 600 NE and was
told H&H had made the official last of them.

Even if your sympathy is entirely with the elephant (as mine is and
his became) this is an excellent collection of dangerous-game hunting
adventures and some drunken misadventures by an Irishman I consider a
better storyteller than James Joyce.

jsw, sippin a bit of Jameson in his memory.
