Default OT - Speed Cameras

Fast backwards to the late 60's. Arlington, Texas, installed speed cameras.
After a couple of Bubbas got tickets for going over the speed limits, they
simply drove by with their 12 ga's and 00 buck at ten miles under the limit
and disposed of said cameras. The DPS got tired of replacing expensive
cameras and quit using them. Now that there is the capability of recording
everything, even people who are driving under the speed limits, I suppose
that doesn't happen any more. Unless, maybe a bicycling Bubba, or one out
walking their put bull ..................

The normally very polite English aparently do not take
kindly to speed cameras. I wonder if American devices will
ever meet a similar fate? They have adopted the "burned in
effigy" or similar to that.

This is similar to the gun debate; laws exist only to protect you from
people who are less competent and responsible.

Then there's justice. Yes, you may have the law on your side, but try to
get blood out of that turnip that just ruined your new car and a year of
your life. Who needs a ten year old "manufactured home" with a balance on
it? Laws don't mean dooky most of the time.

Sadly, the "less" people are the ones who either don't know
the law, or don't really give a hoot.

So, I'm driving along at an honest speed, and another driver
unsafely slams me in the butt end. This happened Dec 01,
2010. Totalled my Blazer, and put me in the hospital. As
luck would have it, the fellow in the semi went off the
road, and needed to have his truck winched out.

Plenty of illegal guns out there, but people like me don't
pack heat because of this or that law.
