You talking about that filthy murdering ******* ted kennedy?

Yeh that one. The senator who murdered Mary Jo Kopechne in a drunken
driving accident in Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts on July 20th
1969.

We all probably paid for the ghosts that haunted him. He was far more a
socialist-activist than his brothers could have tolerated.

It must have been his way of assuaging his personal demons--as

socialism
often is seen as a way of making amends for earlier sins--a reparation,
as it were.

The Democrat party would not be the socialist party it is today if it
hadn't been for him.

I can't say it often enough. For every one or two good public servants
term limits may brush aside, there are dozens and hundreds of twisted
power thirsty men who wish to perpetuated their own personal agendas,

to
force them on all of us, at our expense.

Enough already.

We already have term limits. *It is called November. *If someone
continually gets reelected it is because those in his district or state
wish it to be so. *Interestingly, most people who believe in term limits
like their own representative or senator. *It is someone else's they wish
term limits applied to. *

Well, we obviously need to limit the franchise, as well. However,
absolutely no one seems to agree with me that the voting booth should be
locked by a random quadratic equation.

Short of that, term limits are called for.

Incumbents get reelected because they bring home the bacon to the
district/state. Once in power long enough, they have great influence
over pending or proposed legislation. Constituents who're affected by
such legislation exert influence and money in the campaigns.

November isn't enough of a safeguard. It wasn't a safeguard at all
against President-For-Life Roosevelt. Term limits haven't proven
anything but a blessing for the health of the executive branch since.

As for "liking my own representative," I can assure you I don't. I'm a
neolibertarian living in one of the bluest states in the union.
State-wide one-party rule is approaching the decade mark, and our
largest city has suffered one-party rule for well over 80 years. It's
corruption is now legendary, as if it weren't so in the 1920's when Al
Capone was elected Sheriff of Cook County.

Guess which party affiliation he was; guess which party affiliation was
predominant in the county at the time; guess which party had already
dominated the city for over a decade when he became sheriff.

Class?...anybody?...anybody?

Guess which party just did an end run around the term limits voted for
TWICE by the people of New York City? That would be the Republicans,
who have decided that the world can't live without Mike Bloomberg in
the driver's seat.

and what the **** is a "Neolibertarian?"
