I am going to repaint a couple of Wilton machinist vises (400 and 500
series bullet vises) What color would you say be the best? grey (as in galvanizing paint) or red on top of it? -- Due to extreme spam originating from Google Groups, and their inattention to spammers, I and many others block all articles originating from Google Groups. If you want your postings to be seen by more readers you will need to find a different means of posting on Usenet. http://improve-usenet.org/ |

I like gloss white with a red pinstripe. Lots of folks are fixated on depressing gray. Some like blue. Zebra stripes might be nice. Suit yourself. -- Cats, coffee, chocolate...vices to live by |

Gold, 'cuz that's what they get for them new. ![]() I've always liked light blue for vises, but Grizzly Green is AOK, too. Black has always been a respectable color for cast arn, as well. I hate gray, but with red on top of it, I'd better not comment. (If I did, I might say that it reminds me too much of the yellow and orange taco stands in Tijuana; not my fave color combo for some reason.) -- I wish the Department of Homeland Security knew what ol' Unca Doug did, instinctively, so many years ago: There is no security on this earth, there is only opportunity. -- General Douglas MacArthur |
