Wisnia quickly quoth: Thanks for the tip off, I won't make the first batch for guests. G Smart man. ![]() My standard "home" morning coffee is made from Trader Joe's Columbian beans with a sprinkling of their dark roast beans, ground moments before brewing. My favorite blend was some cheaparse decaf from Wally World mixed half and half with the Sumatran beans from Costco. Costco stopped selling the Sumatrans, damn them, and their columbian is a weak substitute. Millstone sumatran is burnt; Kivu is decent but still weak in comparison with the Costco beans. I can't drink much coffee any more and it's really ****ing me off that I can't find a decent bean to grind for under $12/lb. sigh -- According to our strength of character and our clarity of vision, we will endure, we will succeed, we will have contributed something to make life where we were and as we lived it better, brighter, and more beautiful. -- Frank Lloyd Wright |

If you really want good coffee, roast raw beans using a popcorn popper - instructions on the net. Potential for a little metalworking content depending on what you do for a roaster. Freshly roasted beans taste much better than most of what we can buy here in central PA. If you have a local roaster who roasts daily, it may be different where you live. RWL |
