I don't know squat about pinball machines. But as a general rule, if
nothing works, look at the power supply.

I don't know the vintage of that machine, but I've seen that happen when a
connector or two are loose near where the head meets the playfield. It
usually happens when the head is folded down for transport. All of the
drive transistors for the coils and lights power the playfield through
these connectors.

Hope this helps

--Hey, where *is* pinball discussion taking place? I love them
things! Matter of fact they were teaching a class in hacking pinball
machine parts for robotic art projects at the Crucible this summer. Wish I
coulda taken it! :-)

Check your on-board battery - sort of a bios type thing/system. Otherwise
(as another poster mentioned) check all the connectors - and there are one
hell of a lot of them. Dirt, corrosion and just plain 'murphy' type stuff
will do you in. There should be a self diagnostic system in the machine, a
little red button (just inside the coin slot door) that, when pushed should
toggle the display through a series of messages. You will need to know what
those messages mean and for that go to one of the many sites mentioned in
previous posts in this thread.
Regards.

loss just to get it off my mind)
