Default 2D layout of a Dome

Hello,

Does anyone know how to make a 2d layout of a dome? 32" OD, 16" height, 16
segments?

Thanks.

Got curious. A little Google searching produced the following:

http://www.pilot3d.com/surface_development.htm (they have a free demo
download)

http://obs.nineplanets.org/obs/obslist.html (try hunting through the 'domes'
links)

http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/55168.html (equations for shape of
a gore)

http://www.cardfaq.org/faq/makesphere.gif (graphical descriptive geometry
method)

http://www.cit.gu.edu.au/~anthony/ki.../chute_design/ (parachute
gores)

Should get you started.
