PHOTOS of my 17.5 HP phase converter

http://igor.chudov.com/projects/17.5-Phase-Converter/ You've gotten many good comments in this thread, but I think that nobody has touched on this one. I was perusing the photos and there was one issue that I noticed that you really should correct as soon as possible on the converter: The wiring for the device is clearly protected by the breaker it is plugged into, and no doubt the conductor size is appropriate for the branch circuit it is connected to. However the control wiring inside the cabinet (the small stranded, twisted pairs you run for the contactor coils, etc) are not protected at all. You need to install a small fuse in the converter sized to protect those control conductors at an appropriate level, somewhere around 5 or 8 amps or thereabouts. A clip-in fuse holder inside the enclosure, or an externally acessible fuse mount would do the job.
