Default plastic stock assortment

anyone know where i can buy an assortment of variousm plastic
round/square stock for small hoem projects?--using small jewlers lathe
looking for nylon especially--odd ends and pieces

Good hobby and art stores will have styrene in various shapes. Most
are too "flat" to turn on a lathe reasonably.

MSC (http://www.mscdirect.com/) sells nylon rods/squares/tubes as short
as one foot for very reasonable prices.

Call around the local machine shops and find out who does plastics
machining. They often have dumpsters filled with drops

Onlinemetals.com has some plastic assortment packs that seem to be
similar to what you are seeking

Default plastic stock assortment

Mcmaster-Carr www.mcmaster.com has sample kits of various sizes of
specific types of plastics. Woodcrafts Supply also has assortment kits
of UHMW and nylon scraps for low friction jigs.
