Default Any idea how to reattach a Fiskars lopper adjustable handle that broke off after only a few years' hard use

I bought one. The cutting blade broke almost immediately. Fiskars told

I guess it's for the lifetime of the loppers you paid for, not your lifetime.

When I was in college I bought some Bic pens -- I think they only had
the very simplest ones (clear plastic with a separate blue cap) then --
and it stopped working after a couple days. Their slogan was "Writes
first time, every time". I took it back to the bookstore and was told,
"Well it wrote the first time, didn't it?" Every pen worked the first
time, every first time.

I don't remember if this was before or after another one leaked in my
shirt pocket, ruined the shirt.
