o https://i.postimg.cc/Y2DQkZ8w/fiskar01.jpg
The wife loves her Fiskars loppers, as do I love mine, where we have a ton of clipping to do in order to get ready for winter (scotch broom, spanish broom, oaks, brush, etc.). My Fiskars adjustable lopper handle broke off after only a few years of hard use, so I called Fiskars just to let them know they should look into it (I treated it like a hardware bug report so they could fix the problem). o 1-866-348-5661 I suggested to Fiskars if they would pay for shipping, I'd send it to them so that they could figure out what broke and that way they could fix it for the next person (which is the way I am). I was just gonna buy another one as they wear out after a couple of years. Turns out they have a lifetime warranty, which I didn't even know about. o They shipped me a new one within a week. They didn't even want me to ship them the old one back. o Now I have three of them, one still in the box! Any ideas how to re-attach the handle on the old one? -- Posted as an example of the kind of threads that should be on this ng. |

The cutting blade broke almost immediately. Fiskars told me they would replace the blade under warranty "THIS TIME." So much for lifetime warranty.... -dan z- -- Protect your civil rights! So show your wife how much you really love her and buy her a brand new pair of Fiskers. At the risk of pointing out the obvious... it's a "repair" question. o I know you're a troll so I'll just point out that obvious fact, "Bob". Did you even bother to notice the brand new pair of Fiskars already in the box in the photo? (which I clearly said Fiskars sent me). Besides, this is a "repair" newsgroup, is it not? o It's not an "Amazon buying club", is it? If your answer to even these minor repairs is to 'buy a new one', particularly to buy a new one that I don't even need, then why the hell are you on this "repair" newsgroup, "Bob"? The facts were clear that only you trolls don't seem to comprehend: o I now have _three_ pairs of the same Fiskars loppers. You trolls can't even _read_ a post and understand what it says o And then you tell me NOT to repair when the question is about repair So I'm supposed to buy a _4th_ lopper, instead of repairing the 3rd? In summary, for those on this newsgroup who are not trolls, the question was merely about ideas for re-attaching the handle on one of them. It's a "repair" question after all. |

First answer on a Google I thank you for Googling, but what good is the result if it's not even remotely close to the model I have (which I provided a photo of)? Nor is the break even remotely in the same position? You may as well show me a repair of a hammer or of a tree branch or of a tile roof, if you're gonna "claim" it's the "first answer on Google". I know you're a troll, "Bod", so I'm not being polite to you for two reasons, (1) you're a troll, and (2) you just trolled me. You don't think I searched first, before asking? -- I'm not saying the answer doesn't exist, somewhere, on the net, but for someone to post a useless URL and then claim it's the "first answer" isn't really being helpful, in my humblest of opinions. (Plus, Bod is a troll.) |

When I was in college I bought some Bic pens -- I think they only had the very simplest ones (clear plastic with a separate blue cap) then -- and it stopped working after a couple days. Their slogan was "Writes first time, every time". I took it back to the bookstore and was told, "Well it wrote the first time, didn't it?" Every pen worked the first time, every first time. I don't remember if this was before or after another one leaked in my shirt pocket, ruined the shirt. Cindy Hamilton |
