GE Stove Top Pilot Light Problem
We have a GE Monarch gas stove top with piezo pilot lights.
Unfortunately, the pilot lights don't work properly. Most often, the piezo starts clicking when gas is applied but continues after the burner has lit, which can get old. On other occassions, it doesn't trigger at all and we need to use a lighter. Sometimes it works normally. Sometimes one burner is normal while others trigger the incessant clicking problem. Does anybody know what might cause this and are there parts available to fix something like this? The repair guys told me it was cost prohibitive to make a repair of this type. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, John |

All I need is the spark anyway. -- Joseph E. Meehan 26 + 6 = 1 It's Irish Math |

Hi John,
Sounds like valve switches. GE has had their share of problems with these little switches. Usually one mounted to each burner valve. There are about 1/2 zillion different switches in use. Send your model number & I'll look into it for you. You'll find it either inside the oven door or behind the bottom broiler drawer. Hi Dave,
I looked up the model number: ZGU660 ES1BG GE Monarch Black Ceramic Cooktop with 5 gas burners. The schematic diagram on the bottom shows trigger switches for the 5 burners and an igniter control unit that drives the piezo sparks. Something in this setup is not right -- I was wondering if it might be a grounding problem. Thanks for your help! John "Dave Harnish" wrote in message ... Hi John, Sounds like valve switches.
