Do you have an aversion to small rodents and large arachnids? Look at what happens when they tangle. t(ツ)_/¯

My cat does a damn good job with the mice...
think I'll pass on the spider, my wife probably would not like it so much

Mice don't bother me but with spiders like that, I'd stay out of Australia.

It's not the large spiders in Australia that you should worry about, but
the tiny Redbacks, They are the most prevalent spiders in Oz.
They are so small and they crawl into shoes/ under the loo seats etc.

I heard black widow spiders used to do this and were a big problem when
outhouses were in use.

Heard similar stories about spiders and scorpions where big ones are OK
but small ones are poisonous.

We have no poisonous snakes where we live and I am not afraid of them
but they scare wife to death and she'll run screaming when she sees one.
Creepy crawlers bother me, but I don't know why.

Yeh, some people have a natural fear of spiders, which is understandable
I suppose. They don't bother my wife or me though.
We don't kill any unless they become bothersome. Mostly we just pick
them up and put them outside.

You said no spiders were a problem.

I'm talking specifically about redbacks and we don't get those in the UK.

Why do our kids have to take the Iowa Test for Basic Skills?
Why can't we have a Georgia Test of Basic Skills with questions like,
"Bubba's got three cars and he done traded for two more. How many cement blocks is Bubba gonna need?"

They wouldn't worry me. My friends and relatives out there have never
been bitten by one. You just have to take sensible precautions.
