H20 leak in a 3.2L V-6 1999 Dodge Intrepid.

... I'm beginning to think they design stupidity into so many motors today! Why else would "they" install a water tube with a rubber O-ring under the intake manifold exposed to the heat of the engine? 2-3 hours just to see WTF was leaking. A shop would charge 500 bucks to change a 50¢ ring, plus intake gaskets and injector seals. Not to mention taking off engine coverings, mounting brackets, the air intake plenum and a dozen or more vacuum hoses, EGR tubes and electrical connections. Wadda PITA! The answer is simple, little feller. Since heat rises, like my farts, the design engineers knew just what they was doing. Which is why they put the ring under the manifold. Now, I'm just wonderin' . . . Did that O ring look anything like yer cock ring? LOL |
